After my meeting with Shorts, the time arrangement we made was good in a sense to too early, for runners to spot me and not to late for the Blues to come rushing in. I was back inside the warehouse and I saw a note left there from an anonymous person. It read. 'I've been watching you, and for all you know I might be someone closer than you think. I will kill you and your..friends, the reason I'm telling you this is to see the look on your face when you find out who this is.....' The Initials were too messy to make out. "What the he-" I said as I was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Who is it?!" I asked hoping it wasn't the blues. Another knock came from the door, I went closer to it and as carefully as I could, unlock it without getting killed by the mysterious person behind the door.

"Open the door, Bullet."
Spirit was in far fouler moods than he could have hoped any Blue to ever be. For one, she was nursing a recently sprained wrist, error of a mistimed leap, that had set her in irritable spirits. Secondly, she had discovered the boy she had been harboring was more than conversing with the enemy.
As soon as the boy unlocked the door the Red leader shoved her way unceremoniously inside, slamming shut the door behind her. She turned on Bullet with eyes like ice; with the pretense of calm she folded her arms across her chest.
"You've been meeting with Shorts," she accused bluntly. While not well acquainted, Spirit certainly knew her- she was the leader of their rival running team. "And you have every right to-" she certainly didn't feel this way "-seeing as you are a Seeker, still, and owe allegiances to no one. However," she paced the room, her gaze never straying from the boy's face, "you cannot expect the Reds to continue to house you if you are going to be dealing with both sides."
She stopped in her stride, and would have felt guilty about what she needed to say next, had it not been for her frustration. "I need you to mo-"
Spirit blinked, falling short in what she was saying. Behind her, stuck to the door, a note was hung. Her heart skipping over a beat, she marched toward it and ripped it off the door, her eyes flickering down the page.
"Who is this?" she demanded of Bullet, feeling a stab of panic. Whoever was watching him could just as easily be watching her- how stupid, to think of taking care of this kid....

"Relax Spirit....I was never considering to go on the Green's team. I'm just using her to help me help all the runners....that man in the subway wasn't the only one....there was another in the Mall. And I didn't meet with Shorts on purpose, she just showed up...wanted to talk. Anyway, I was thinking about the person who hacked into the V.T.B. and was wondering if he could hack into the current mayors network and take some files...read over them. I told you I- we, would get to the bottom of this." I snapped back at her, calmly though. She saw the note on the door. "Who is this?" She asked. "I have no clue. Can you read the initials? I mean do they mean anything to you?" I asked Spirit, hoping for a reply of the persons name.

"It doesn't matter if you were considering joining the Greens or not, Bullet, working with their leader is enough," Spirit snapped back. She flipped the note over, turned it back and squinted at the initials he had indicated.
"Can't read them, and this was addressed to you, wasn't it?" she said moodily, shoving the note at him. "Even if I could, I doubt it would make any sense to me. It looks like someone who knows you personally; do you have a brother? Any family or friends you may have left behind?"
Her dread was rising and, to mask it, so was her anger. She unconsciously rubbed her sore wrist, contemplating the worst circumstance that could come from this.

I looked at Spirit Thinking about my family; dead. "No..." I paused a while. "My mother died when I was 9, my father abandoned me due to his mental health and the loss of my mother." I said looking sad, almost feeling sorry for myself, 'I'm so pathetic', I thought as I was talking showing my emotions too much.
"My cousin, Ciara, was the only family I had left, in other words, my lineage ends with me...." I said turning away from Spirit, trying not to show too many emotions allowing er to think I was weak... "I never told you this but, you kind of look like my cousin, only difference was that I don't think she was a runner."
I looked at Spirit, who was shocked at what I said. "Anyway, enough of my sappy story, will you allow me to at least use Shorts to get us a hacker and try to see what's going on with those dead guys?" I asked Spirit who was still shocked at my story.

Spirit quirked a brow at Bullet's sudden confession; feigning a particular interest in an old scar on her left arm, she rubbed at it, feeling a bit awkward. Situations like this would crop up, occasionally- Runners, a lonely batch, would sometimes confide in one another, a bold move Spirit often considered unnecessarily dangerous. It was uncomfortable to hear him say that she resembled a lost loved one; weaknesses were a private affair.
"Anyway, enough of my sappy story, will you allow me to at least use Shorts to get us a hacker and try to see what's going on with those dead guys?" Spirit glanced back at him, her eyes coldly sharp once more. She ground her teeth, grappling with the idea of getting the inside information she wanted, or surrendering her potential lead to the enemy. It was, after all, her suspicions that had sparked these inquiries- well, hers and Bullet's. Thinking this a bad idea before he even voiced it, Spirit flexed her fingers.
"Going with you," she said quickly, before she could take back the words. "Like hell if I'm letting Shorts and her crew get this information. If she doesn't want me to come along, all the better, I'll help you get into that building."

"I'm Okay with that." I said smiling. "I'm meeting with her at the Old docks tomorrow at 1:30p.m. make sure you're hidden, she never planned on this." I advised her hoping she took my warning with care.
"You know this might actually get the runners, Red and Green to become one instead of being separate teams. And you should get that checked, you don't want that to kill you when you're running." I said pointing at the scar on her hand. "And how did that happen?" I asked her, the wind blowing through the door.

I walked down, passing by the old docks, watching the gulls cross the sky. I gently touched my burnt wrist, watching it turn redder and redder. Something chirped lightly and I touched the earpiece that was nestled in my ear, it was one of my runners patrolling, I called them my seers, around the city, keeping me informed on things happening that I could not see.
"Shorts here," I answered softly. It was Optic, one of my seers that hung around the area of the Green HQ.
"Hey, boss," His sharp voice rang in crystal clear. "I got something on my radar, sounds like Red business."
I cooed "Ooh, interesting."
"It's something you might want to hear. You know that kid Bullet?" He told me. I nodded.
"This should be fun, I'll be there in a few," I told him, then lightly went into a jog as I went towards where he hid out. There were a few warehouses there, nice and out of the way of the city. In a small shack near there, I saw him, waving at me. I got there fast, and crouched next to him. He was connected to a bunch of machines, he calls them his radar, makes him feel important.
"I can't get alot, there is a bunch of interference here, and this stuff is last season tech." Optic informed me.
I pocked at one of the machines, "Where do you get this stuff?" I asked curiously.
He replied, "Some I pick up left over from police raids, and I can put some together, others..."
"Never mind, what else did you get?" I interrupted him.
"Nothing much, I'll keep you posted," He told me.
"Just a few things, the Red is mad, and the kid is acting kind of heroic, talking about doing something to 'help all the runners'," he told me, smiling.
"All seekers do that. What else?" I kept going.
"Well, the Red doesn't seem to like you, and if you were planning a job before, she just threw you out of the plan," He further informed me. I smiled, it seemed like her to do that. The Red leader was smart, especially since she was able to raise to red leader at the age of seventeen. She may be smart, but I she was not as experience as I was.
"Okay, just be alert, you don't know how the Red will react if they catch you here," I finished, then left, and instead of leaving straight back to the HQ, I jumped into a nearby tree, watching the warehouse that Optic pointed out to me, maybe something fun would come up.

Spirit laughed then.
"She's not stupid, Shorts," she said. "She's actually got a few years on me; if not skill, she can easily beat me down with experience. Hiding from her isn't a good idea." Neither is it becoming, she added silently; her mental image of her crouching beneath the docs, creeping along behind as they went along their mission, seemed cowardly. Sure, she had a good age bump on her- Spirit wasn't afraid of that.
At his advise, the runner glanced down at her hand. "What, this? Its an old wound," she said. "Won't be a problem. And as for that 'working together' crap," she shot him a suddenly icy glare. "Cut that out. The name of the game is staying on your feet and being the best. We're sponsored by opposing political candidates; asking for 'peace' is like asking the mayor to step down. Isn't going to happen."
She swept to the door, glancing back at the note in her hand before sticking it back on the door. "See you tomorrow," she muttered, and exited.

"Fine, then meet me back here half an hour earlier...and if I'm snoozin', wake me....that's all I ask" I said smiling at her even though she was glaring at me..which was as cold as ice. As she left I put the bag with my 'runner' uniform against the bench next to the bed. I didn't realize this at first but, this place was huge. 'I wonder if they ever thought about making this a training area for runners?' I thought in my head.
All of a sudden Shorts came through the door, and her expression was neutral but with a subtle glare, she asked me a question.

I saw Spirit exit the warehouse, and I stayed hidden for a minute or two, before going into the warehouse myself. This kid was interesting; working both sides was a dangerous business, even if he was just a runner. I stormed through the door, startling him. I glared at him, not moving at all.
"Tell me, what do you think of me?"

"What, I think of you?" I asked puzzled by this question she just asked. "What exactly do you mean by that?" I asked confused by this sudden question.

What do I mean by that? I repeated to myself. I smiled...
"It's a simple question," I told him. "Tell me what you think of me, I don't really know how much more clearer I can be."

"Well I think you're pretty, you're relaxed and you're a really fast runner...." I said thinking if I was answering her question or not. Not trying to be a smart-ass. "Or are you talking about you're personality?" I asked still unsure of the question she was presenting.

"No, that's good enough," I finished. "Now, I got a hacker we can use, he's one of my best, the only problem is what exactly out plans are. Knowing Spirit, she probably doesn't like the whole working together thing, and since you are the mastermind behind all of this, what is your next step?"
