Brief History: After her parents' messy divorce, Artemis Jacobs did what many anguished teenagers did; she ran away. Her life became that of the common beggar, doing odd jobs, never staying for too long in one spot before moving on. Both her fury and her pride kept her from returning home, and the Police became an enemy when they began to question her, pestering her about where she lived, what she did for a job when she was seen wandering the streets alone. It was from them that she first learned of the runners; it wasn't until a year later, however, that she decided to join them.
Motivation: Sickened by the means she was scraping a living, Spirit took to the streets under an assumed named, joining the faceless mass of people just as desperate as she. She was recruited by the Reds three years ago, working her way up the ranks until left in charge at the former leaders' sudden arrest.
