I was listening to the man as he was talking to the woman next to him. "Getting a little short on cash and I'd rather not have ta learn how to dance on one'a them poles, ya know? Knees wouldn't stand for it." I smiled and gave out the quietest giggles I'd ever made. I kept listening to their conversation, She talked about helping the man with his money issues.
I thought about why she wouldn't speak about it here, then it came to me, 'runners' the runners could use an extra pair of legs. the woman said "Do you want to discuss this somewhere else? Over some lunch perhaps?" all of a sudden I just cut in. "You might not want to speak in public, period. with all the surveillance the cops got you can't keep a secret for too long." Why did I do that? I just gave some strangers some advice but, it felt weird, in a good way. "I know a good place where you guys can talk where they zero surveillance." Trying to be friendly to strangers is difficult, considering I'm kinda on the run.
After I spoke the woman said something...

"You might not want to speak in public, period." I turned to the teen seated next to me, eyebrows raised in confusion. "With all the surveillance the cops got you can't keep a secret for too long." I gave him an odd look. What was he going on about? Did he know I was a Runner? The young man continued, "I know a good place where you guys can talk where there's zero surveillance."
I certainly didn't know what he was referring to, but it was clear that the teen was not too fond of the Blues, or he was a criminal of some sort. Maybe he had misinterpreted what I said. Since Harland said he was short on money, I thought he probably hadn't eaten anything decent in a while. And I might as well get to know him better over lunch.
All I could say in response to the teen's advice was a nervous, "Um, sure..." I was beginning to feel a bit more uncomfortable around the young man. I just hoped he wouldn't give away my occupation as a Runner. After all, there were other passengers.

The train stopped. I tapped the woman on the shoulder telling her 'this is our stop'. I made sure the Male followed to. As we got out onto the station, the horrifying encounter of the man being riddled with bullets came back to haunt me as there was another incident inside the station. The man came screaming out of a door, crying 'HELP ME!...... PLEASE...ANYONE!! HEL-' He was cut short by a Blues ammo clip into his back. The people around me panicking and screaming. I looked at this with a straight face, trying not to let my anger for the Blues rise to the surface. I looked back toward the woman and the man, shocked as they were, we had to continue going. "C'mon, I don't want to stick around here." I said to them, trying not to sound too heartless.
We barely got outside with all the people running out with us, but we did. I lead them to an alley way with a fire escape ladder heading for the roof but before I did, I made sure no one was around. "Are any of you familiar with the term 'runners'? Mainly what they do?" I asked. They both replied.

"If you're hungry that is," Chance trailed off and suddenly looked very awkward.
Free lunch with a cute girl. Really, what sort of folk would I be if I said no?
I was about to accept when the kid suddenly decided he was damn ready to start talking and my day took its second turn toward the crappy.
He spouted out some stuff about talking a secure, camera less location --which did not sound like a proposition to have something more than lunch filmed and thrown on the net at all, no sir-- and Chance had replied in the affirmative.
Did I miss something? Some kid did just ask me and some girl I just met to go to a nice windowless room somewhere to "talk" right? And she said yes?
Suddenly Chance seemed less innocent and cute. This could be any number of ways that this could go wrong, with me having my bare rear on the internet in under an hour being not even close to the worst of them. And what better bait for leading some idiot country boy to a warehouse where somebody could steal his kidney than adorable, unassuming ol' Chance?
Of course, the flip side was that she had been pegged as unassuming by this kid and he was gonna lure the both of us to that same warehouse where his gang was waiting to rob, strip and do all sorts of unpleasant stuff to us. And if I decided to bail on her, she'd be doing that oh so lovely stuff by her lonesome.
So, my options are walk away from the grafter and his cute girl bait, or leave cute girl to gang of hooligans. Or, option number three where I follow to see what the hell is going on and bail or stay accordingly.
There was also the possibility that the kid was legit and just sucked with people. And if that were the case, he was missing his scar and gunblade.
A few moments passed in silence while I, and possibly Chance, weighed our options. The train lurched and came to a stop at the same time as the kid tapped Chance on the shoulder and told us we'd be getting off.
Moment of truth Harl.
The kid sauntered off the train, and Chance slowly got up and followed, looking decidedly nervous but interested enough to investigate. Either she was a really good actor, or she wasn't working with the kid.
Hoodie, I decided, watching the kid. The label seemed as good as any.
Hoodie glanced back at me, curious.
Ok, so I'd feel like a complete prick if Chance got hurt. Smart choice or not, I had made my decision.
I got up and took a step off the train. At almost the exact same time, some guy came crashing out of a maintenance door, with just enough time to scream for help before somebody behind him tore into his body with gunfire.
Panic shot through the crowd like an industrial laser through a loaf of bread and I was suddenly fighting that same sort of "why me?" crying that I'd almost given into at the mall. Jesus Christmas, hadn't we already played this game? If the lady in green showed up again, I'd probably just deck her, let myself get cuffed and call it a god damned day.
The next few minutes were a haze of screaming people, loud commands from somebody that were completely ignored and following the rapidly moving forms of Chance and Hoodie. We ended up in a surface alleyway somewhere near the subway entrance. Hoodie asked both of us if we knew what Runners were and suddenly every hackle I had in me was trying to touch the sky.
Harland Tomms took a polite bow out from the situation and Swoop --the guy who'd had a really bad day and was dying to visit some harm on somebody for it-- was suddenly in full force.
"Yeah, they fuck up my day something fierce! That's the second god damned time today some guy just gets gunned down in public and I'm there to see it, and guess what? Runner showed up there too! So help me god Hoodie, if you're with that psycho green bitch I'm gunna break your nose; cause this shit is a little big for coincidence!"

When the train stopped, the teenager had tapped me on the shoulder, informing me that this was our stop. At first, I didn't know what to do. I then reminded myself that this man wasn't with the Blues (obvious enough). He could be an ally. But there are also people you can't trust in this City, so it would be a good idea to keep my guard up.
With that thought out, I stood up from my seat, watching as the young man beckoned Harland to follow as well. The older man hesitated for a moment, probably thinking over his decisions, and I was a bit relieved to see that he decided to join us. I wouldn't want to be alone if the teenager was really a bad person.
When we stepped out of the subway car, I heard desperate shouts for help, and looking through a small gap in the crowd, I caught sight of a man, shot down by some Blues. There were frantic screams as civilians moved to get as far away from the scene as possible.
I'd never seen such a thing happen in person, and it was a terrible feeling, since I was actually there, seeing it all. My eyes widened as I watched the poor man fall to the ground. Anyone could tell that he was already dead, and a feeling of dread creeped into my mind. I just saw a man die, less than a mile in front of me.
"C'mon, I don't want to stick around here," the teen said, shaking me out of my thoughts, and I saw him run for the exit. It was clear that he had seen this happen before, and after pushing down my fear, I ran after the stranger, looking over my shoulder to see Harland following as well.
Running through a crowd of frightened people was harder than it looked, but luckily we made it out of the subway station. The young man led both Harland and I into an alley that wasn't too far from the subway, and he turned to us.
"Are any of you familiar with the term 'runners'?" he asked, and I sighed inwardly, reassured that this stranger was an ally. "Mainly what they do?" I moved to reply, but Harland decided to do so first, and he didn't sound happy.
I was slightly surprised at the outburst, but from his large statement, I could understand where he was coming from. He has every right to be angry.
I decided to remain quiet, interested in what the stranger has to say to Harland's answer.
I leaned back against one of the walls of the alley, and the image of that man being killed suddenly flashed in my mind. His lifeless eyes, and the sound of gunshots. I hastily covered my eyes with one hand, trying to push the image away. I've seen people die before, watching it happen through security cameras on my computer, but seeing it in person... The event must have struck me harder than I thought.

"Psycho pretty much sums her up and I wish I was with her, she seems fun for, ya'know, being a psycho" I said as I climbed the ladder and ascended through the fire escape. "You still didn't answer if you knew what they do?" They looked at me weirdly, the man more than the woman. "...And by knew what they do I mean, do you know Parkour?" I continued up the fire escape, awaiting my answer.

The stranger laughed loudly, an action I wasn't expecting. I lowered my hand, pushing the images of the murder to the back of my mind as I listened to what the young man had to say.
"Psycho pretty much sums her up and I wish I was with her, she seems fun for, ya'know, being a psycho," the teen told us as he climbed the ladder up to the fire escape. "You still didn't answer if you knew what they do?" Know what they do? Businesswise? Or was he implying their skills?"...And by knew what they do I mean, do you know parkour?" He was still walking up the fire escape, and, after taking a deep breath to calm myself, I decided to answer.
"Yeah. Two years of experience." I raised my gaze to look at the stranger. "You don't need to tell me about the Runners; I work with them." I glanced at Harland, hoping he wouldn't be too angry at the news, but considering what he said earlier, I doubt it.

((if you don't mind, just for the hell of it, if I come in? I'll just stick to the shadows till now. If you dont want me, I'll delete my post))
Shadows covered her movements and she darted from one side to another. She was just walking around when gunfire rained down in the mass of people. Shorts never knew that the roaches were firing in public now. This spelled Trouble with a capitol T. The last time this happened...
Shorts brushed that thought from her mind. It was years ago, a bad memory that was now fading. But she didnt know what she would, or even could do, if something like that sparked up again.
As soon as the first bullet echoed, Shorts disappeared from view, letting her adrenaline lead her. New gloves adorned her hands as she silently made her way from one area to another, following the sound of the crowd and the gun show. It eventually lead her to another area where she recognized some faces. It was the Bullet kid from before with their meeting with Spirit, and the mall punk, who still had never thanked her for leading the cops away from him before.
She was about to move on when she heard the punk use the words 'psycho green bitch' in the same sentence, even right next to another. It dawned on her that maybe she should have taken the offer from one of her runners to dispose of him before, but that was in the past. Shorts decided to stay, hidden in the shadows, and listen into their conversation. She knew that she couldnt stay hidden forever, but at least for the next few stages of the conversation...

"Really, what about you..." I paused not knowing each of their names. As I was climbing I looked back and saw a figure but couldn't make out who it was, but didn't really care as well.

I am looking out for a Enecta Review as I am extremely interested to take up a couple of fresh CBD brand names on my on-line CBD shop(https://cbdoileco.com). I managed to locate several very good reviews on holycoweliquid.com but it is not quite what I am looking for. If anyone is interested in partnering up with me on starting a new CBD on-line store in the UK, please let me know. Cheers
