Creak. Creak. Creak.
Spirit was pacing restlessly, wandering up and down the old docks with her arms crossed over her chest and her hood tugged up over her face, where beneath its shadow hard silver eyes traced the early-morning scene. This was stupid- beyond stupid- and the young woman was fool enough to realize and thickly throw caution to the winds. She was embarrassed to be dealing with Shorts- the enemy- but she could not surrender the lead. She knew how it would go; once the information was seized, it would be a free-for-all, with poor Bullet caught in the middle.
Her earpiece crackled in her ear as a runner under her command reported back; pressing two fingers to the piece, she murmured a quiet reply and finally halted in her meanderings, her gaze set upon the main street. Her sentry had seen them coming.
(sorry its an awful post, was trying to get something up quick. not much to go on, either.)

Shorts was in a rather good mood, she knew this day was going to be fun.
It wasn't that Shorts hated Spirit, but it was all a part of the job. One knew that even if they had never met in the outside world, colors meant the enemy.
She reached the old docks, and there, saw a shadowed face. She was right on time. Quickening her pace, she wrapped her black jacked so it hugged around her shoulders. She quickly was right next to Spirit, and she flashed a smile.
"That Bullet is really something, huh?" Shorts asked the Red Leader.
(The post wasn't too bad, but sorry for such a short post on my end. There is still alot of people where I am!)

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing in my head. the high pitched staccato bleeps draining the sound around it so that you could only hear the bleeps. I shut off the alarm, took my I-pod and went to the Pier.
While I ran I listened to Still Alive, the Paul van Dyke remix. I jumped roofs, scaled building sides and ducked under various obstacles in my way, the beat of the song following the beat of my footsteps on the rooftop. At last I was there; the Pier.
I saw Shorts and Spirit conversing next to the edge of the pier. I wonder what they're saying?...
(It wasn't awful. =D)

"He is indeed."
Silently Spirit sized the Green Leader up, her grey eyes flickering down her stature. She had seen her face in photos, news reels, and had even glimpsed her from afar- this was, however, their first face-to-face encounter.
She stood barely an inch taller than Spirit and had within her poise a calculated elegance, the wisdom of years. For this Spirit was most criticized; she was young, and Shorts could leverage time-tried tactics over her. It was perhaps the Red Leader's adaptability that had gotten her this far.
Spirit dragged her eyes off toward the halo of light silhouetting the city. The boy in question had appeared, nearly reached them. The young woman repressed a sigh and flicked a grimace to Shorts. "Has he talked to you of 'uniting' the Runners?"
Crossing her arms over her chest, she waited until Bullet had approached. "That'll get you killed," she advised, nodding grimly toward the Ipod in his hand. "Can't hear anything. You'd be better without it."

Shorts bit her lip and studied the Red Leader, sensing that she was doing the same. Shorts was fairly impressed when she heard the age of the Red Leader, at first, she didn't take it seriously. Shorts worked hard to make it to the top, and knew that being leader was no small feat, but after hearing fact after fact about Spirit, she did respect Spirit for her hard work, even if she was a red.
That kid, Bullet, Shorts knew right when he came into the vicinity. Listening to his Ipod, what a trip this kid was. Spirit commented on it, and Shorts added in.
"And we don't want that," Shorts smiled a bit. Cracking her wrist, she put her hands on her wrist. Kids these days...

While I walked up to them I heard Spirit say something that struck me rather odd seeing as how I'd mainly do this during my running sessions. She said pointing at my I-Pod. "That'll get you killed, can't hear anything. You'd be better without it." Shorts also agreed.
I looked at them dumbfounded. "This, kill me? what do I have to hear other than the wind and my hacker telling me where to go on the other earpiece but," I said looking rather regretful opposing her words as it was. "Seeing as you are the 'pros' at this game, I think i pull some strings in me." I said smiling.
"So, are we ready to find the hacker?" I asked them.....

Spirit merely rolled her eyes, unable to bring herself to calmly respond to the boy's comment. Rubbing at her forehead, she spoke into the bend of her elbow.
"Yes. Seeing as you two had the master scheme set up, I'll take a backseat here. Tell me what you know."

"Well, The person we are trying to get is a special hacker seeing as how he or she hacked in the V.T.B.'s mainframe and took something....a program. We also know that he or she, couldn't have done it alone because as Shorts said, the place is crawling with Blues." I said smiling lightly under the orange-yellow haze of the sun's emitting ray.
"We need the find both the hacker and what the program was that he stole.... If we can do this then the next step should be pretty easy...."

Shorts thought for a moment, she had remembered something about one of her runners watching the heist from a distance.
"I think that I may have his name, or one of my runners does. He told me he was near when the call went out on the police frequency," Shorts remembered.

Listening to this new information, I had an idea....
"Great, does your runner still remember the name?" I asked.

Spirit listened mutely with her arms folded over her chest, the tips of her fingers tapping unconsciously as she considered. This sounded faintly familiar....
"Have either of you heard of a third party being involved?" the young woman asked quietly. Her encounter with a hacker only days before came to mind...a young man she had never seen before, carrying a case of information. "I ran into a hacker while he was running from the Blues; he had information from the Tower, but had been betrayed by a conspirator. He wasn't a Blue, obviously, and I'm fairly sure he wasn't one of yours, Shorts." She spared the Green Leader a glance.
"Anyway, he refused to tell me who he worked for, which makes me uneasy."

I listened to Spirit telling me of her recent encounter with this hacker we were searching for.
"What? you met him before?" I asked, baffled by this new information I was processing. "Do you know or remember where you last saw him?..." I asked. "....because if you can take us there, we can all spread out in all directions North, South, East and West. Shorts you can head North of there, Spirit South and I will take the East." I said, I was forgetting something but I'm not sure what...

Shorts stopped Bullet, forcefully putting her hand on his mouth.
"Just wait a second," She told him. Something wasn't sounding right, and that caused her to go into Leader Mode. "This isn't right. A third party? Now I am not one to push away something like trying the VTB, but if we are talking about a third party, who would willingly throw away a hacker, we don't know what we are dealing with, we can't just blast ourselves into the situation without knowing what we are getting into!"

After Shorts interrupted me.. I felt her aura....it was like a leaders. "Are you suggesting a recon mission? scoping things out?...i think we can do that" I said as I smiled towards them both.
(( I like how this is going! =D))

"I agree with Shorts."
Spirit crossed her arms over her chest, shifting her weight to her other foot. "Something isn't right here. If a hacker is expendable, then they have ready forces. Which means they're funded. On top of that, Bullet, I found the guy right outside the trade center as he was trying to escape. I didn't bother trying to track him."
She took a few paces, flexing and unflexing her fingers in a contemplative fashion. "The thing is, though,, I don't even know where to being looking for answers."
